Shit Fountain

Here it is, dedicated to all the dogs in the area, the Shit Fountain. This glorious, stink free piece of poo was created by artist Jerzy S. Kenar. In the summer there is trickling water to provide a fresh, wet appearance. It is located at 1001 North Wolcott Avenue in Chicago.  :)

Champyinz

Despite the current struggle of the Pens, Pittsburgh fans will always be Pittsburgh fans. So, whether you need to gear up for the Pens playoff run or get a head start on the Steelers season, which will be here before we know it, this is the place to do it, Champyinz.

"Team Champyinz is leading America and the world in conceptualizing and producing: Original, Funny, Awesome, Unofficial Pittsburgh Apparel. Just kidding....but seriously!"

One of the masterminds behind Champyinz is an ol' friend and fellow classmate, lets show him some support!

Nut Balls!

I'd hate to post two recipes back to back, but I can't contain myself any longer. This recipe is life changing. Disregarding the different "marketed" names, I simply refer to this recipe as Nut Balls. They are officially a staple around here and simply the best! They are merely impossible to mess up and are super easy to customize to your liking. If you have a sweet tooth, these are a great alternative. I can's say enough about these delicious, healthy bits!

• • •
2/3 C walnuts
2/3 C almonds
2/3 C rolled oats
1/4 C dark chocolate (or carob chips)
1/4 C agave nectar (or honey)
2 tsp vanilla extract
1 tbs creamy peanut butter
1/4 tsp cinnamon
1/8 tsp sea salt

Place dry ingredients (except chocolate) into the food processor. Pulse until everything is evenly chopped. Add agave nectar, vanilla extract, peanut butter, cinnamon and salt and combine. Once combined, mix in chocolate. Form into balls and freeze until firm. (Keep stored in freezer.)

You can find the original recipe here. These are a must make, unless you are allergic to nuts, then I wouldn't recommend them at all.

Keep me posted if you come up with other delicious concoctions.

Blue Carrot Shop

"Graphic Designer by trade and a treasure hunter by preference", Alexandra runs an inspiring shop full of one-of-a-kind items. Blue Carrot Shop has been featured on Apartment Therapy and in HOW Magazine. With the growing popularity of vintage integration, I couldn't help but spread the word myself. And don't worry gents, there is also a section just for you, Mantiques.
Enjoy a few of my current favorites!

Beer & Bacon

I'm going to apologize in advance to all the vegetarian/vegans that may be reading...Don't hate me for this one.  :)

This past weekend Kenny, myself and a few friends hit up a beer and bacon tasting at Paddy Long’s. The tasting consisted of 5 seasonal beers paired with 5 ridiculously awesome cuts of bacon. It was delish! I think I'm still perspiring bacon.

Happy Easter!

I love the holidays. For me the holidays are always a chaotic mix full of family, games, more food than one could imagine, and trying to make my mom sit down for 5 mins. When I don't get to make it home to enjoy the festivities, we do our best to make our small, quiet, relaxing gathering equally as special.

Deviled eggs are a staple

That’s gold.

Hello.
Here it is. My attempt at giving you a glimpse into life as I know and love.
I’ve been thinking about it, and that poem, that guy that wrote it, he meant you’re gold when you’re a kid, like green. When you’re a kid everything’s new, dawn. It’s just when you get used to everything that it’s day. Like the way you dig sunsets, Pony. That’s gold. Keep that way, it’s a good way to be...
—S.E. Hinton, The Outsiders

Enjoy.
